Hey Cameron,
Hope all is well and this finds you abundantly blessed.  The second segment of Colossians is pivoted off of 1:18.  Paul tells the church that God wants Christ to have the preeminence.  Paul is writing, remember, to a church that is experiencing division because there is a faction that is trying to develop a superior Christianity by merging Greek Hedonistic philosophy with the teaching of the Bible.  In their attempt to develop this intellectual super religion, they are developing a division within the body as they elevate themselves above others in the church.

What God wants everyone in the church to do is to put Christ first.  So then we ask the questions…
If we put Christ first in our lives what does our life look like to others?
If we put Christ first in our lives will we find it easier to see in others?
If we put Christ first on our lives what will become very difficult to see?

Or think about it this way…
If Christ is blue, and we put Him first in our lives what will the rest of the world be shaded?
If Christ is blue, and we put Him first in our lives what shade will other people’s lives appear?
If Christ is blue, and we put Him first in our lives what shade will it be very difficult not to see others in?

The entire segment hinges on the idea of putting Christ first.  If we put Christ first in our lives what will our lives look like? If Christ is blue, and we put Him first in our lives what will it become difficult not to see in our lives>

Cameron, think about it geographically.  If Christ is in front of me and you are on the other side, who do I see?  Who do you see? Who do you see when you look at me?  Who do I see when looking at you?  If we, the church, can see other believers in Christ, and other believers can see us in Christ then it becomes very conducive to unity.

So then what does putting Christ first in our lives look like? Wouldn’t it mean becoming more Christ like?  Wouldn’t becoming more Christ like make it easier for others to see me in Christ?

If the guy on the far left is looking at the guy on the far right what color does he appear?  Who does the guy on the far right appear to be ‘IN?’  If the guy on the far right is looking at the guy on the far left what color does he appear?  Who does the guy on the far left appear to be ‘IN from the perspective of the guy on the far right?’

If we put Christ first then not only does it become easier to see others in Christ, but it becomes easier for others to see us in Christ.  Ultimately people will no longer see us, but will see Jesus!! There’s your segment from 1:15 all the way to 3:17.

Blessings,
Leep
